Permit Technicians often encounter construction language in permit applications, plan sets, inspection notes, and customer conversations. This course trains technicians to recognize components of a building, understand key terminology, and see how construction concepts appear in the real world by analyzing actual inspection photographs and plan notes.
The course provides a broad overview of terminology across multiple disciplines, including residential and commercial construction, plumbing, mechanical, and energy systems, with a focus on how these terms are used during plan review and field inspections. Participants will gain practical insight into how terminology connects to code requirements, construction methods, and common field conditions.
