Since we're a small jurisdiction (just me) and most stuff goes out to our third party, I've been asked to research if I'd be interested in also getting my "R3 Residential Plans Examiner" certificate. To help tackle those little projects that take more time to send to the third party then it would for me to review in house.

Should I even go down that road? And if so, does anyone have any idea how to do so?

(I am aware of Chemeketa's program, but it seems expensive, isn't clear how work schedule friendly it is, and is only once a year.)
