Associate memberships are for individuals, firms, corporations, or associations that are not affiliated with a political municipality.

Governmental memberships are for a bona fide employee of any political municipality.

Honorary/Retired memberships must be confirmed by a member of the OPTA Board of Directors. (Please email info@oregonpermittechs.com for Honorary/Retired membership applications.)

• Membership period runs from January 1st through December 31st
• Membership renewals are send out annually in December.

Membership Benefits

There is no better time to join our ICC Chapter – Oregon Permit Technician Association (OPTA) is an association dedicated to raising the profile of the Permit Technician (typically front counter staff) by providing training, networking, and support.

MEMBERSHIP WITH A PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION:

• Promotes and supports the ideals of the ICC.
• Educates members on the International Building Code, International Residential Code, and other related Code procedures.
• Promotes development of professional skills.

EDUCATION BENEFITS:

• Promote, Support, and Mentor Members in becoming ICC Certified Permit Technicians.
• Permit Technician Education Conferences, in person and virtually, provide a wide variety of meeting topics specifically designed to educate participants in code administration.
• Members receive education registration at a reduced cost and in some instances, FREE! See Scholarships.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS FOR ICC CERTIFICATION:

• Obtain ICC Preferred Provider CEU credits by attending conferences, serving as a board or committee member and attending PTN hosted training.

BUILDING SAFETY MONTH AND DAY OF SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:

• Collection of Building Safety Month ideas
• Notification of Day of Service opportunities

Membership with PTN: Includes articles on self‐promotion, educational opportunities and insight into other areas of interest that Permit Technicians deal with. The PTN website offers a discussion and survey board, educational opportunities available and all the latest news and updates from PTN and other ICC Chapters around the nation.
