Oregon Permit Technicians Association

Mission Statement:  “To develop a higher standard of professionalism in education, training, and unity among jurisdictions.”

The Oregon Permit Technicians Association offers scholarships to our members annually.

There are three categories for which you may apply.  It is OPTA’s goal to give scholarships in at least two different categories, but if applications are received in only one category, two scholarships will be awarded from that category.  You may apply for only one scholarship per year.

To be eligible for one of the scholarships, the applicant must be a current OPTA member in good standing, complete the application, and email it to the OPTA Board of Directors, info@OregonPermitTechs.com, along with your essay and recommendation letter.

First Category – OPTA Offered Education:  Class Registration Fees for an Education Conference with our Annual Business Meeting, an in person Education Conference, or a virtual Education Class.  One scholarship per person annually.

                                      Scholarship Amount:  Amount of current registration, approximately $250 per day

Completed applications must be submitted to OPTA by 5:00pm of the deadline date listed on the flyer, 

Second Category – Test Reimbursement:  Reimbursement of the fee for taking and passing the ICC Permit Technician Certification or Code Specialist.  To qualify you must apply and be approved prior to taking your exam.  Once you have passed the certification test, provide documentation to the OPTA Board of Directors for reimbursement of fees paid.

Third Category – Continuing Education:  For the person who wants to advance their career by taking additional courses at an accredited college or university.  The successful applicant will enroll in an accredited school, submit proof of payment, and OPTA will reimburse up to $500.00.

                                      Scholarship Amount:  Up to $500.00
